About Me:

I am celebrating life like I never have before! This past 22 months I have lost 125bs and found the person I was always meant to be. I still have 110 to go before I reach a healthy weight.
I have no ambitions of being a super model or anything. I just want to be healthy.
I started this whole thing because, after doing research into the complications of diabetes, I had to decide what kind of quality of life I wanted as I go into old age.
Did I want to be blind, have heart problems? Possibly lose a limb?
Did I want my daughter worrying in ten years about what home to put mom in?
Did I want to play with my grandchildren?
My daughter has never seen me under 200lbs in her life and she has seen me over 400 at one point.
I just got sick and tired of being sick and tired!
I had to decide to -as a character in one of my favorite movies puts it, “Get busy livin' or get busy dyin” ” . I have a distinct preference for “livin'”.

I am heading into my second year of my “hero's journey”.
I have lost a total of 125pounds so far and gone down some sizes.
That is not the important thing.
I am getting to know myself like never before–and finding out that I am not the bad person that I was told I was all my life.
I am attending yoga and tai Chi classes now-not just doing dvd's at home.
It is wonderful to get a sense of community and get to know positive people.
